Carmen News and Updates to the Manor Return to the Sandiego Manor

News, Updates, Etc.

July 3, 2011 -

The Manor is now celebrating 15 years on-line!

Okay...so there's really no updates yet, but I will probably add some new images soon. I did update the banner to denote the 15th year (though it was just a quick edit). Thanks everyone for your support throughout the years!

April 2, 2011 -

I have updated the CHIEF page to note that Carmen now airs on a cable channel called The Hub. Also, there has been 1 new quote added to the quote page, plus some typo corrections to one of the quotes.

Celebrating 10 years on-line!

Yup, 10 years. Wow...

I am amazed that this little site has been around for 10 years. I have to thank everyone who contributed to this site over the years. Thank you also for being patient through the lack of updates in recent years.

A little banner has been added to mark this historic day and I would like to ask you to please join us in the forum to share your memories! :)

Edited to add: Updated the opening blurb to note Season 1 is on DVD.

More coming soon!

May 13, 2006 -

Okay...so a year and half later I finally update this place. *sheepish grin*

New fan art by Mirei, Cracell and Nicolle L. Go check out some beautiful work!

More info on where you can watch Carmen, plus the Season 1 DVD set will be out this summer. Cool! :)

The links page has been updated. One new site - Carli's Rules of the Game. Cool. :) Also, I have checked the links on the page and they should now all work.

I put the link back for the articles page. Not sure how it fell off the menu, but it did. Since that section was hidden for so long, it is marked as 'New' though I have not updated the articles there.

In other news, the Manor will be 10 on July 3rd. Yup, 10 years old. Not sure what's in store for any sort of celebration, but...at the very least, this site should be ad free soon!

September 16, 2004-

The forum has moved. Please update your bookmarks/favorite list if you directly linked to the board itself. I have updated the entrance page with the new link as well as posted the link in the old forum's header.

Here's our new locale: http://notsecret.proboards21.com/index.cgi Enjoy!

Also, I have linked Cracell's really cool fansite, Project Carmen (http://projectcarmen.shyper.com/) over on the links page. Go check it out!

September 12, 2004 -

Just fixed the links page here. I added a couple more sites, updated links and removed any that do not work. Plus added the info that Carmen is now on Yahooligans.

September 10, 2003-

Experiment 917, parts 1-5 is now online. I do realize I don't have 915 & 916 up yet. I gotta get those up there too. But I have gotten request for 917, so...here's what's done so far. Enjoy!

July 9, 2003-

One new piece of fan-art by Zane. It's Carmen in an original outfit. Check it out on the creative page!

Also, the Manor won another award! Thanks so much Kat and everyone at Animated Lust would voted for me!

July 6, 2003 -

The Manor's 7th birthday! Woo hoo! (Erm, well, belated birthday since it would be the 3rd, but anyway...)

Okay...so for updates, just a tweek of the episode guide, but there's a lot I have to do.

March 13, 2003

I posted this over on the updates page for the main Carmen page, but just in case people come here first, I thought I'd post it here as well.

Some sad news for Carmen fans...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Tony-winning actress Lynne Thigpen, a co-star on the CBS drama "The District" and the former host of a popular children's educational program, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 54, the network said on Thursday. Thigpen died suddenly at her home Wednesday night, CBS said in a statement. No cause of death was immediately announced.

The actress played the role of Ella Farmer on the crime drama, a statistics clerk who aided the chief of police of Washington, D.C. in his work.

Thigpen was also recognizable to younger viewers as the host of the PBS shows "Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?" and "Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?," educational programs based on the popular computer games.

She won a Tony Award for her work in the show "An American Daughter" and was nominated for a Tony for her performance in "Tintypes."

Fixed my FAQ with more updated info plus I fixed up the episode guide a tiny bit. I mean...all the episodes have technically aired in the US. I gave a rundown of Season 4's scattered episode airings too. Hope that works...

Feb. 17, 2003 (again)

Silly me forgot to upload the fanzine cover for "A Tale of Two Outlaws." You can find it now on the Creative Page.

Feb. 17, 2003...

Where did nearly 2 years go?

Okay, I do admit it took ages before I did anything to this site. And I'm sorry about that. Real life just was a whirlwind to say the least.

But I did add some new stuff to this site. There are a couple new articles, some new fanart, and I finally got around to checking those links.

Got myself a new award, fixed the broken pic, and moved the b-day banner to the awards page.

Oh yeah, some new stuff on the CHIEF page too. You may notice I did an update back in June and didn't annouce it. Oops. So check out both today and June's entries.

I added to the merchandise pages. I removed the address for DIC. That address was old. In the disclaimer, I linked Dic's wesite, so if you wish to contact them, go there. The webcards no longer worked either so I had to take that page down as well.

The movie rumors page has been updated. I removed the broken links and just added a tiny bit more info plus a link to the Internet Movie Database's site.

I think that's everything...

Oh! Yes, I fixed my e-mail address. Hotmail was evil and just flooded my mailbox, so I am going with Yahoo.

Enjoy folks!

July 3-

No...there's nothing new to this site, but I do have a big long Birthday speech written. Read on, please! :)

Today is the Manor's 5th Birthday! Yup...on July 3 of 1996, I had finished uploading the page onto GeoCities. It's grown since its humble beginnings...can you believe the Manor was just one page then? Yup! There were a couple pieces of creative works that were basically done by myself and my friend Kevin. But, that was it, really. The site grew to add more information as I found more online. Then, the fans found this place and added so much to it! It's positively amazing! I thank you all for your help and support over the years for making this site what it is!

In addition to the fans, I gotta give some special thanks here: Thanks to the folks at Broderbund Software (well, now The Learning Company) for the information and acknowledgement you gave me! Thanks to my brother Scott and my friend Kevin for their support and helping me get this site off the ground and watching Carmen for all those years with me! Thanks to my Dad, whose computer was what I used for uploading the site! Thanks to all the computer labs at Bridgewater State College...okay, I haven't been there in a year and a half...but their computer labs gave me so much access for 4 1/2 years! (The Manor was not created until the summer after my freshman year of college.)

Okay, so I got a little carried away with the thank yous. :) Hey, when your website turns five, gush all you want...I won't look at you weird if you don't look at me weird. :)

Anyway, also...I am so happy to have gotten to actually know some of you from this site. Some of you, I actually got to meet in person, others I have gotten to talk to you over the phone. It's been real fun talking and getting the chance to visit you. Maybe we can do it again sometime! Keep in touch!

Some of you, I've talked to many a times online and I feel I've gotten to know you a bit as well. Keep in touch, it's nice chatting!

No, I did not mention any names here for a reason...didn't want to single anyone out here. Otherwise, there might be some hurt feelings I forget someone! (And, I'm very likely to have done so...I've talked to so many of you over the years!) To quote comedian Lewis Black, "I'm not going to mention any names, but I thank you all!"

You would think I would have some Carmen quote somewhere in this rambling, right? But you know...my mind has gone blank by this point. And if you're still reading this...wait, YOU ARE?!!! Anyway, I think you want me to wrap it up and I shall...with one last "THANKS EVERYONE!" and a Carmen quote...one Kevin and I have used so often it's insane: "I say, cheerio!"

June 29-

No, not a major update...just added one fic that was requested, "Politcally Incorrect, the Animated Edition" to help out Mainecoon. Also, the Carmen paper of Jennifer Borse's is online again!

For a more kept up site with the fics, visit Crimenet, please. :) And thanks Lio for keeping on top of it all!

Feb. 26- Forum link fixed. I retooled the main Manor page. Now it all shows up in IE, though there is a big space at the bottom of the right table. Best I could do for now.

New winner of an award- Animated Lust! (Don't let the title fool you, it's a really wonderful character archive.)

Feb. 25, 2001-

The Links and Sounds page are back on-line. How's the new layout look? On Netscape, it look fine, but in my version of IE, the section after the webring is missing. Anyone else have this problem?

Feb. 20, 2001-

It's..an unofficial update. I have the new layout online. I hope you like that. Actual updates to follow shortly!
