"You see, before Globie and Laurie joined ACME, Ace was ACME's finest stars. He's even worked with Carmen Sandiego once. But when she turned bad..." "He started drinking, and all that stuff. His habits continued, and his work quality became worse and worse. I finally had no choice but to demote him to the rookie rank." "Once Globie and Laurie came, they took over his place as the best of the best, Until one day he decided to quit ACME. But in a meeting with me, he vowed to be back one day." "He joined Pinkerton, our late-number 1 rival. He and Derek Avalon worked together like Ivy and Zack was to ACME. (OK, maybe more like Jaci and Globie together, I'll admit.)" "He rose in rank at Pinkerton, but the evil inside him took over, and with him was Derek Avalon. And now, they're both bent on revenge on Globie and Laurie." "But the question still remains: How? So, let's rejoin the story. As of now, our friends are in London, sipping cocoa in the Parliament Café." Globie faced Zack, and Zack gave him a funny look. From the look, Globie knew Zack was thinking of something. "Globie..." "Yeah?" "I was thinking...I think Ace might have lost all his donuts." "Well, Einstein, you should've figured that out a few centuries ago." "Very funny, Edison." "Just joking!" "Those 8 medals look really good on you, Globie." "Really?" "Oh, by the way, which is from which country?" "In order, USA, Germany, Japan, UK, Russia, Canada, Italy and France." "The UK one looks nice." "It the VC, actually." "Not many people alive today can claim that they have a VC, no?" "Yep." "Sara and Ann got the same medals as you, no?" "Of course." "Globie!" "Sara! Don't do that!" "Oh. Sorry." "Really now, you're all grown up, aren't you?" "Yeah." Just then, the Videophones on the BCCCs buzzed, and the Chief appeared. "Hey, Chief! Nice to see ya! Found Carmen yet?" "Hot tip from ACME Crime Net! It seems that your old friend Ace has been spotted at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg!" "Really? Oh, so he's turning bad, isn't he? OK, let's C-5 to St. Petersburg, Russia!" The C-5 was activated, and everyone was sucked in. Location: The streets of St. Petersburg, Russia Time: April 29, 2000 - 7:45 PM The C-5 portal opened with a flash of light, and everyone appeared. The crooks ran past them with the Imperial Crown as the C-5 portal closed. "Ace!" "And it looks like he's determined to be the next Lee Jordan!" "So, let's catch him!" The videophones rang, and the Chief appeared on the screen. "Important Update! The P.D.A. has surrendered to ACME. But some has not joined our side." "Chief, is Shadow among them?" "Let me check...Yep." "Send her here. By the way, what's her rank?" "Bronze Master." "OK, Chief. Send her A.S.A.P." "Sara, she's being given a BCCC. The computer inside hasn't come online yet." "How long will it take?" "Not much longer. Now go and chase Ace!" "Globie told me that there's an accomplice." "Who?" "It looks like Derek Avalon." "Carmen's brother." "Like sister, like brother." "OK, I'll get Wanda to issue you a warrant for Ace and Derek Avalon." The Chief hung up, and Wanda came on the line. "Warrant Division, This is Wanda." "Wanda, arrest warrants for Ace and Derek Avalon on the double." "Coming right up." The warrant tray filled up with the arrest warrants, and Sara thanked Wanda. "No problem. Now go catch those crooks!" Sara hung up, and ran as fast as she can to catch up with the rest of the agents. Sara caught up, but the crooks were gone. "Where did they go?" "They went into the Neva River." "Let's go and chase them!" "What? We can't do that! We don't have warrants to arrest any of them!" "We do now!" "Good work, Sara. Thanks to Wanda." "Let's go! We don't have much time." The agents got a boat and a megaphone, and saw Lady Agatha Wayland on the dock. "Lady Agatha! You're under arrest!" Zack said as Globie slapped the cuffs on Lady Agatha. "That's the last of the VILE World Division." "Yep." "I'm not a VILE villain!" "Oh yeah? You still have the grapefruit-sized diamond ring." "I work for the ACME Snitch Division with Belle Graham. Belle does Moscow. I do St. Petersburg." "Let me pull you up." Globie's BCCC pulled up the file on Lady Agatha, and it told Globie what she had told him herself. "Now will you believe me?" "OK. Zack, remove the cuffs." "OK, Now, where's Ace?" "Ace and Derek are heading for the Baltic Sea with Turiste Classe, R.B. Traitor, Dara Riska, Al Loy and Clay Tandoori" "Get us a boat. We have warrants for Ace and Avalon." "You still need warrants for Classe, Traitor Loy, Tandoori and Riska" "You call Wanda." Lady Agatha called Wanda, got the 5 warrants needed, and they all headed out on the boat. The boat caught up with Ace's ship quickly, but Ace had something up his sleeve. "Look out! He has gun turrets aimed at us!" "Get out of the way!" The little boat passed under the range of the turrets, and Globie and Lady Agatha boarded. On the deck of the boat was 25 VILE Bluecoats, with rifles patrolling the decks for intruders. "Isn't that Ray Zarumpus, with the VILE USA Division?" "Yeah. That's Ray all right." "Let's get him!" "Not without a warrant we're not." "OK then." Globie called Wanda, and Wanda issued the last warrant needed. "Will this be the last of the warrants you'll need?" "Yep." Wanda hung up, and Globie and Lady Agatha sprung into action. Lady Agatha took out the Bluecoats, and Globie tried to arrest Ray. "Today, you will NOT get away from me, Zarumpus!" "In your dreams, copper!" "I've let you get away too many times, Ray." Globie pinned Ray to the ground, and slapped the cuffs on him. "OK, let's head for the bridge. I think some "friends" are waiting." "Got your warrants?" "Yep." "Let's go." The 2 crept quietly up the stairs to the bridge, and found the door open. Dara Riska and Al Loy were sitting at an impromptu table, guarding the Russian Imperial Crown. "When we put this baby up for ransom, Russia will pay us millions for this to return to St. Petersburg!" "Don't be so sure. I think some ACME freaks are nearby." "Got that right." "LADY AGATHA WAYLAND!" "Let's get her!" "Not so fast!" "GLOBIE!" "You're under arrest!" "Never! Al, sound the alarm!" Lady Agatha and Globie sprung into action. Globie tackled Al, and Lady Agatha tackled Dara. The duo was quickly put out of action. Globie picked up the crown and tossed it to Zack in the boat. "Follow us. We'll be throwing crooks down as we arrest them." "Aye aye, skipper!" "Oh no, Al's sounded the alarm." "And here comes trouble." Turiste Classe, R.B. Traitor and Clay Tandoori were fast approaching them. "I'll get Traitor, you get Tandoori and Classe." "Check." The 2 got to work. Clay Tandoori was the first out, thrown into the Baltic Sea by Lady Agatha. "Who's next?" "Bye, bye, Traitor!" R.B. Traitor was slammed onto the deck of the ship, and Globie went down to throw him into the Baltic Sea for ACME pickup by Sara and Zack. "You're last, Turiste." "I'll never give up!" "OK, but do whine to the judge later saying I hurt you." Turiste Classe went into the bridge, and ran into a passageway. It finally led into a jetty in the bottom deck. "The game ends here, Turiste." "Not yet, Globie." And there was Ace and Derek Avalon, with Laurie tied up in a chair. "OK, Ace, the game ends here." "Not yet. I still have one final card to play." "And what's that?" "To drown your friend here." "Globie, help!" "What do you want?" "I want your head for my cell." "You wish." "My command." "Not terribly funny, Ace. You were always the worst joker at the ACME Cafeteria." "And what are you? Jerry Seinfeld?" "I hate that show." "Well, I like it." "You're insane, Ace." "That does it! I'm taking you out and there's nothing you can do about it!" "Down? Out? Where I come from, thems fightin' words!" "Ha ha!" Ace rushed towards Globie, and tackled him. The two wrestled until Globie pinned Ace on the deck, and Lady Agatha had arrested Derek Avalon and freed Laurie. "You're the worst piece of #@%& I've ever known, Ace. Now, you'll go down in history as the biggest idiot the world has known!" "Big words for a sissy like you, Globie." "Speak for yourself." "You saying that I'm a sissy?" "Yeah, like everyone knows that." "OK, but If I'm dying a fool, you're coming with me!" Globie slapped the cuffs on Ace, Lady Agatha opened the jetty door, and at once Zack and Sara came in with the boat. "Globie, no!" Zack shouted as Globie and Ace rolled into the water. But before Globie went down, he shouted, "Zack, if I die, you get the flat, you comprede?" "All right! Thanks, Globie!" "Very funny, Zack." "Yeah." "Lady Agatha, did you get Turiste Classe?" Zack asked. "No, I think he escaped." "Great." "Hey, at least we got most of them." "Well, good enough. Turiste Classe can't pull off a heist without Carmen anyway." "True." Zack, Sara and Lady Agatha looked at the bubbles coming up, and saw that the bubbles were getting lesser and lesser, and until, suddenly, they ceased. "GLOBIE!" "I'm going in." "Sara, watch out!" "I'm an expert swimmer, Zack." Sara jumped in, and reeled both Ace and Globie onto the surface. She started First Aid for drowning, but to no avail. Lady Agatha pulled everyone onto the little boat, and piloted it back to St. Petersburg. Later, at the London General Hospital... Lady Agatha and Sara waited. Laurie and Zack went back to HQ, while Lady Agatha and Sara took Globie to the ER of the London General. Hour after hour passed, and finally doctors came out. "Doctor..." The doctor shook his head. "It's just that...It was hypo." "Serious hypo?" "Yes. But he'll be OK." "That's good to hear." "OK, now. Lady Agatha, you'd better get back to St. Petersburg. I'll be fine here." "OK. Sayonara!" Lady Agatha activated her BCCC, and disappeared in a blinding blue flash of light. A month later... Globie was back, and everyone wasn't surprised. After all, he's recovered from worse things. "Hey, Globie. How are you doing?" "Fine, Polly." "OK." "Here, I got your office all cleaned." "Oh, thanks, Ann." "Here's a note from Ace before he died." "He died?" "Yep. I'm sad to say." "How?" "Something in the water choked him. Doctor took a look, and it was an ice ball the size of an eraser." "Let me read it." "Globie, I'll score from beyond the grave, Ace." "So, what happened to Derek Avalon and the VILE traitors?" "They were arrested, and put into the slammer." "How about Carmen?" "We busted her too." "Oh, cool." "So, what are we doing for lunch today?" "How's about delivery?" "We can have a party." "Yeah, That's a good idea." "Why not?" "Let's call." "But what do we want?" "Pizza." "Fried Chicken." "Chinese dim sum." "Tacos." "Felafel." "Gelato." "Ice Cream." "Lasagna." "Pineapple fried rice!" "Fish and chips!" "Escargot!" "Paella!" "How's about one thing for everyone?" "Yeah!" After a while, everything arrived right on time, Ivan put on some music, and they partied all night long. That night, Laurie was asleep, and was dreaming of something really eerie. "Globie! Globie! Help!" "There's no one to save you!" "Yes there is! Sara! Jaci! Carli! Anyone!" "Too bad that I've stolen their souls. They can't come anymore." "You monster! No, not into the water...." Laurie woke up, with sweat all over her face. She rushed out, and everyone was there. "I had that dream too!" "But why?" "Is this a sign or something?" "I don't know." "Never mind about it." "Yeah. Good night." Everyone retired to their houses, and switched off their lights. And that's all there is. There isn't anymore. (Or is it?) --- The End! --- "Hey!
