Greetings everyone. This page will provide updates as to the latest news of Carmen's future on the air.
And now, the latest news:
April 2, 2011:
Carmen has been airing weekends on The Hub, a cable network station. Only reruns are airing at this time. Link to the Hub's site.
Dic has been bought out by The Cookie Jar Group so they now own Carmen. Not sure what this means for future releases. It's been rumored that Mill Creek maybe release future episodes on DVD but nothing further than this rumor has been confirmed.
May 13, 2006:
Carmen is no longer airing on Yahooligans.
If you have the Black Family Channel , that station is airing reruns of the show.
A box set of the first season of Carmen will be out on June 13 of this year. Check out the page over at Amazon.com
Sept. 12, 2004:
I'm behind on this, but Carmen has been airing on Yahooligans for the past couple months now. Episodes remain online for a few weeks then are removed for later episodes.
Feb. 17, 2003:
I forgot to pass this along...an e-mail from the Fox Family Channel:
Thank you for your email,
The all-new Fox Family Channel programming schedule does not include WHERE IN
THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO?, but feel free to continue checking in with us for
its possible return.
Thanks again for your email and keep watching!!!

Fox Family Channel
They didn't even get the show title right. Of course, now that it's now the ABC Family Channel, who knows if they have the rights to the Carmen series. Ah well.
June 5, 2002:
I know many of you have given me some basic updates and since I haven't taken care of things in so long, I may have lost some information!
Yes, Carmen is airing in syndication in a few markets. PAX dropped the series a couple years ago. As of right now, the only way to see the series is if you have a local station carrying it. So far, I have heard reports for the series airing in Tampa and Jacksonville, FL, Atlanta, GA, Salt Lake City, UT, various cities in PA as well as some in Canada. There may be other cities airing the series, so check your local listings!
June 9, 2000:
Pax moved Carmen to Saturday mornings earlier this year and then canceled it a couple months ago. So, now Carmen is once again off the air. Also, according to Globie, ACCESS has dropped Carmen from their schedule. *sigh* Now what?
Well, I did add a link to Pax Tv's contact page. (Click the link "contact info" and it's the last addy there.) Perhaps enough comments will get Carmen back on TV!
September 29, 1999:
Carmen has begun to air on Pax TV 5 days a week. Check the schedule page for the episode of the day.
As for Carmen's status on FoxFam...currently it has disappeared from the schedule. Why or if it'll return is currently unknown.
Thanks to Kristy from Until Next Crime for this info!
Oh, btw, I have neglected to mention that "Can You Ever Home Again 1 & 2" have aired on Fox Family in December and early January. The status of "Cupid Sandiego" - still unaired.
December 5:
Finally! One of the 4 unaired eps. aired today. "Timing is Everything" has finally been shown in the US.
August 11:
Here's some further info from Ryan Leclair on Carmen's move to the Fox Family Channel:
"Fox World Wide" bought the "Family Channel".It will be the same
channel but with a new look, attitude, and much better programing.
Carmen will start airing Saturday the 22nd. Since noon on the
15th is our first air day we won't be airing the usual programs. But
starting on the 22nd Saturday mornings will be ruled by such favorites
as the "Real Ghostbusters", "Camp Candy" (coming next
month), "Pee-Wee", "Carmen Sandiego", etc.
August 7:
This is really cool. :)

Here's an international report:
Howdy...

On May 23rd, John Leung wrote:
Good News!
In Calgary, an educational station, ACCESS, now carries Carmen!
Too bad you if don't live in Calgary.
It's on at 4:30 PM MST every weekday.
and on May 25th added:
I have some dark news for you.
TeleToon, my favorite animation station, has told me that their licence
doesn't allow US Broadcast.
Sorry and good luck for the others.
But, ACCESS is doing great with Carmen.
March 23:
Sorta good news. Fox has agreed to show 3 more episodes of Carmen. On March 30, 31, and April 1, "Retribution" will air.
No doubt it is airing due to the Titanic craze sweeping the country. See, in the episode, an
enemy from Carmen's past named Maelstrom tries to steal the
wreck of the Titanic. But hey, 3 episodes are better than none!
February 19:
Nytecat informed me that Carmen has finished the fourth season, though some of the "Retribution" episodes were not shown. The show has started back at Season 1.
February 11:
More news from Nytecat:
"In Malaysia Carmen is on from
Mon-Fri at 10am,3pm &7pm..so I guess it's becoming popular."
Nice to know, too bad it's not on here in the US! :(

"Hi, I'm from Malaysia. 'Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?' has started showing since 1998 Jan.
I just found out on the net its being taken off air for the U.S. Why?"
Also, Terry informed me that the show plays in Malaysia on the Disney Channel. Dax added: "oh yeah, the malaysian chanel that plays Where On Earth is Carmen Sandiego is Astro net. They're
one of the few asian cable that includes the Disney channel.
Carmen doesn't seem to be doing very good there either: she comes on weekdays at 11am and
11pm (not exactly what I'd call 'primetime')"

John Leung writes:
Ahem....
If you're listening....
May I have you attention please.
I emailed an another cartoon network, called TeleToon (Only available in
Canada or maybe some parts of the U.S. Ask your local cable company for
details.)
And I asked them to carry Where on Earth is Carmen?
If you really want to see Carmen all over the world, I suggest you do us
Canadians a favour and access TeleToon's webpage at www.teletoon.com and
go to the suggestions area.
Tell the world about it too!
October 23:
Jaci Harris writes:
"I have some news which may be great news, depending on what comes out of it, of course.
I recently got an e-mail from Cartoon Network saying they were interested in the show, and that they were always interested in adding new shows, but that some shows weren't either available or
affordable. I decided to tell Dic of the network's interest and suggest they come to an agreement.
So, last Thursday, around 5:00 Eastern time, I called Dic,a nd spoke to a lady. I gave her Cartoon Network's snail address, and after she said Dic would contact Cartoon Network, I asked her to let me know if Dic and Cartoon Network came to an agreement. I then gave her my phone number. "
We can only hope. Now, I that everyone doesn't get Cartoon Network, so if Carmen does go there, some of you fans will still not be able to see the show. A pity, I must say.
October 1:
An international report of sorts-
Roni Mendelsohn who lives in Haifa, Israel has reported that awhile ago Carmen was cancelled there. In fact, they only got to see up until Season 2. :(
Meanwhile in Ontario, Canada, Kathryn Zuj has reported that they do get to see Carmen- one catch though, it's in French.
"Carmen is on Fridays at 5:30, and the station is TFO, an Ontario run network."
Hmm, anyone feel like moving and learning French?
September 10:
Dark news. I called Dic and my call got forwarded to the production office and somebody was actually there. This is what they told me:
(hope you don't mind the play form of the story)
Tracy: Hi this is Tracy, how can I help you?
Me: I was wondering if there was somebody there I could ask about Where on Earth is Carmen
Sandiego? Whether or not it's going to be back on TV?
Tracy: Well, what I know is they're not asking us to make more episodes.
Me: You mean Fox?
Tracy: Yes. But I don't know if there's another station that will be picking it up.
Me: Oh, that's a shame. Well, what about the ones that haven't been aired? I mean-
Tracy: Well, see, I really don't know. The director has left us.
Me: Oh ok. Well, thanks for your help.
Tracy: Ok, bub-bye.
And there it is- the final word, so to speak. Now Tracy didn't know if some other station was going to pick up the show, so I beg you, write to Fox, tell them to ask Dic to make more episodes! Write to Cartoon Network or a local syndicated station of yours and ask it to carry it! Don't let this show slip off the air for good!
September 2:
Well, there are many more unaired episodes than first thought! I received more info Gerd Ruprecht with a full report:
Sorry that I didn't answer your last mail immediatly, but I was collecting
some new informations about Carmen. That's why I can present to you today the
(european) Carmen SanDiego Episode Guide ! Perhaps, you know allready all
the titles of the remaining episodes, but here they are again: I got them
from the
belgian flemish television where they showed the episodes in english with
sub-titles. Another point is, that the german and the belgian t.v. aired
the episodes in a slightly different order than that in your episode guide.
That's why I give you here the order, in which they aired here:
Season 1:
1. The stolen smile
Season 2:
1. Skull and Double-Crossbones
Season 3: 1. The Tigress
Season 4: 1. Retribution, part 1: Unsinkable Carmen Sandiego
This means, that there are 40 Carmen episodes out there.
"Retribution" is the title of the three parter I mentioned in an earlier
mail. "Can you ever go home again" is the two parter, where Carmen meets her
father (or doesn't she?). It's a real good story and a worthy conclusion for
the series. In a next mail, I will send you more detailed information about
the episodes you don't have yet in your guide.
Untill then, see you next crime
Gerd
Also, Fox has taken down the Coloring Book Carmen pics. I saved them on a disk, so I will post them either here or maybe at CSAS.
August 8:
Latest News from Megan Thompson:
I just learned some terrific news. I called my local Fox network to ask
about Carmen, and they told me that Carmen is going to come back. They
aren't sure exactly when, because DIC is currently inthe middle of creating
the new episodes for the season. They said to keep an eye out for it though
because it will be back soon.
July 3:
More unaired episodes? Guess so! I got an e-mail from Gerd Ruprecht saying:
the last episode of Carmen will be aired in Germany on saturday, july 5th.!
That's why I can tell you that we saw only 3 episodes which are not mentioned
in your episode guide! These three episodes are in fact a three part story
called "Campaign of revenge". I must admit that the german titles are not
always exact translations of the original titles.
The story is about a man called Mahlstroem who was captured by Carmen during
her ACME-days. There are some very funny scenes in it, so we see the first
version of the chief as a robot !!
May 22:
The Emmys say Carmen is in sydication. Is it now? Does anybody get it?
There was a clip shown on the Emmys where Carmen meets her father, so unaired episodes must be out there.
Also the Fox Carmen page is gone. :(
April 26, 1997:
I got an e-mail
from Megan Thompson that said that Carmen may not be cancelled after all.
Here's the message:
I about had a heart attack when I saw your Save the Show page. I almost
decided to forget life and go lock myself in my room, but instead I decided
to act rather than panic! I called and asked a woman [who is the programming manager of the local FOX
broadcasting station at Columbus, Ohio] there if "Where on
Earth is Carmen Sandiego?" was being cancelled, and she informed me that it
wasn't, but instead was on hold, pending the creation of new episodes by DIC.
The reason it's not on the fall line-up is because DIC and FOX headquarters
in L.A. don't want to put it on the line-up until the new episodes are
finished. She said we shouldn't worry unless it's not on the line-up by
fall, so as far as she knows, Carmen will be back, just probably not until
September.
I'm a Brit, and I thought I may as well tell you that Carmen is back on UK terrestrial TV every week, and I think its Season 2.
No luck for Sky though, still keep up the good work...
Cheers, James.
